Carport Remodel

One of the first projects we started in our new home was the carport. It was too small for Ryan’s truck to park so we decided to frame it on one side to make a little shop we desperately needed.

We moved from a two-garage with an unfinished basement to a 2 bedroom 2 bath home with very little storage. This meant we had to get rid of a lot of stuff but we still needed a place for our tools, holiday decor, and things like that. A temporary fix, while we were in the move-in phase, was to put a large tarp around half of the carport to keep our stuff out of the snow since we moved in January.

We went to Home Depot and got some metal sheets. 2x4s and a few other materials and got building. Ryan’s Dad came over to help out with the build.

This is a huge improvement from the blue tarp we had up for a few weeks! We are so very happy with the way it turned out. Ryan did an amazing job!

This is the other side of the carport where I get to park. We are using the outside of the framed shop for extra tools. We have a door to the shop so we can lock it up.
