Fruit Trees, What We’ve Planted so Far!

Fruit Trees, What We’ve Planted so Far!

We started our orchard! There are already some fruit trees on the property, but we wanted a few more to add to the variety. Like so many other things going on around our new, place I am so excited about all the fresh fruit!

We have a section of the property that the previous owners planted several trees, some are not going to make it and we will have to remove them, they also planted a variety of trees in the area.  The fruit trees that have already been planted by the previous owners are Apple, pear and a couple we are not sure yet until they start to bloom. This is our future orchard!

What We’ve Planted so Far!

Besides being absolutely delicious Peaches offer a rich treasure of minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron, manganese, phosphorous, zinc, copper, and are a good source of dietary fiber as well.

We plan on eating them fresh, freezing them and making a variety of jams, smoothies, and other healthy desserts.

Apple Trees we want a variety and are looking into getting a grafted apple tree. When Ryan first talked about getting an apple tree with several different varieties of apples I was like that sounds like a GMO tree. So I did a bit of research and they are not GMO Trees and the grafting process is pretty fascinating. We might try and graft a few apple trees ourselves.
