7-Night Caribbean Cruise Review: Sailing on the MSC Seashore

If you’re planning a Western Caribbean itinerary or considering sailing with MSC Cruises out of Port Canaveral, we’re sharing all the highlights from our 7-night adventure aboard the MSC Seashore!

Day 1: Embarkation at Port Canaveral

We arrived at Port Canaveral early to kick off our second cruise with MSC. The boarding process was smooth, taking about 45 minutes from arrival to stepping onto the ship. After settling into our balcony cabin, we headed up to the deck for the Sail Away party to watch the coast fade into the horizon as we set sail.

Days 2 & 3: Two Days at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve (Bahamas)

One of the major highlights of this itinerary is an overnight stay at Ocean Cay, MSC’s private marine reserve in the Bahamas.

  • Daytime Relaxation: The crystal-clear water and white sand beaches are unbelievable. We spent time relaxing in shaded lounger areas, reading, and taking a dip in the calm turquoise waters.
  • Nighttime Fun: Staying overnight allowed us to experience the evening Lighthouse Light Show on the island, complete with beach fire pits, live music, and a tropical party back on the ship.
  • Dining Tip: We headed back on board for dinner to try Hola! Tacos & Cantina for delicious specialty tacos and a pitcher of fresh margaritas.

Day 4: Sea Day & Gala Night

Our first full day at sea was packed with entertainment. We caught the live MasterChef at Sea audience competition and spent time taking in the ocean views. That evening was Gala Night, followed by the high-energy 60s/70s/80s themed Sunshine Party in the atrium.

Day 5: Costa Maya, Mexico

In Costa Maya, we walked through the port area—where you can spot dolphins and local shops—before taking a quick walk into town to visit The Krazy Lobster. It’s a great beach spot offering free paddleboards, kayaks, fresh margaritas, and beachside seating. After spending the day by the water, we took the scenic shaded jungle walkway back to the port and caught the incredible Voladores de Papantla (flying men) performance before sailaway.

Day 6: Cozumel, Mexico

For our day in Cozumel, we booked a day pass at Del Mar Latino Beach Club, an adults-only, all-inclusive day club located right along the water.

  • What We Loved: They cap entry at just 40 guests, so it never felt crowded. It features an infinity pool overlooking the ocean, unlimited food and drinks, and free snorkeling gear.
  • Evening Surprise: Back on board the MSC Seashore that night, Kristin got randomly selected from the audience to participate in the main stage magic show! We finished the evening with the iconic White Party on deck.

Day 7: Day at Sea & Voyagers Club Reception

As MSC Voyagers Club members, we were invited to a special loyalty reception with complimentary champagne, live acrobatics, and an introduction to the ship’s captain and senior crew. We spent our last evening packing, taking in the Rock Royalty production, and catching a performance at Le Cabaret Rouge.

Day 8: Debarkation & Heading Home

Before disembarking back at Port Canaveral, we made one last fun discovery—we finally spotted a hidden cruise duck tucked on a leaf on deck! After debarking around 7:45 AM, we visited The Club MCO airport lounge in Orlando for breakfast before our flight home.
