With Summer just around the corner its time to start thinking about healthy health travel snacks! Below I hvae posted a few of our favorite travel snacks!

Peanut Butter Protein Balls

Looking for an on the go snack? These energy balls are so simple to make. They are great for a before your workout, road trip, picnic, a party you name it! My kids love these as well. There are several ways you can make these protein balls. I want to make these as healthy as I can and without preservatives and other unwanted food additives. I made this batch with homemade peanut butter. Yum!!

Peanut Butter Protein Balls

A quick and easy snack for on the go! 
Prep Time 10 minutes
Course Snack
Servings 48 Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Peanut Butter Almond Butter, or Seed Butter
  • cup raw honey or agave
  • 2 tsp. Vanilla
  • ½ cup flax meal
  • 2 cups oats use Gluten Free oats if needed
  • 1 cup Vanilla Protein Powder
  • 48 large Dark Chocolate chips

OTHER OPTIONS:

  • ¼ mini chocolate chips
  • Raisin

Instructions
 

  • Mix all ingredients into a large mixing bowl. Roll into 1 inch balls. Press down on a plate or cookie sheet until slightly flattened. Press a large, dark chocolate chip into the middle of each cookie. Refrigerate or keep at room temperature

Spicy Roasted Almonds

Spicy roasted almonds are another fabulous travel or on the go snack. They are super simple to make. The recipe below is just a guideline makes these your own try different spices.

Spicy Roasted Almonds

These delicious almonds make a handy grab-n-go snack any time of day!
 
 
Prep Time 5 minutes
Course Snack
Cuisine American
Servings 4 Servings
Calories 232 kcal

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 325 F.
  • Stir all ingredients together in a bowl until the almonds are well coated. Spread the nuts out over a parchment lined cookie sheet and bake for 15 – 20 minutes or until golden brown. Stir halfway through the baking time.

Notes

Note: Keep an eye on these in the last 5 minutes of baking as they can go from baked to burnt pretty quickly.
